The Student's Representative Council (SRC) of Nimelssa at the University of Ibadan has released a statement in which they express their deep appreciation for the overwhelming attendance of Nimelssites at the recently concluded Congress. The SRC acknowledges the Congress as a pivotal event aimed at advancing the association's objectives and fostering unity among its members.


During the Congress, participants were reminded of the importance of maintaining a forward-thinking approach, free from personal biases. The SRC's primary focus remains on propelling the association towards greater achievements, leaving no room for sentiments that may hinder progress.


The parliamentary procedures followed during the physical gathering proved enlightening, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the association's constitution and policies. This knowledge empowers Nimelssites to act in accordance with established guidelines wherever they find themselves. Moreover, the physical Congress played a crucial role in fostering stronger bonds among the members, as highlighted by a participant's testimonial.


To avoid any misconceptions, the SRC clarifies that their press release was never intended to overshadow the Congress or usurp its responsibilities. Rather, its purpose was to inform Nimelssites about the proactive steps being taken prior to considering any disciplinary measures against executives who may have deviated from their obligations. In a bid to expand the association's activities, the executives have submitted a letter requesting an extension of their office tenure. This extension will provide them with the necessary time to undertake additional initiatives that will benefit the Nimelssa community as a whole.


The SRC earnestly appeals to all Nimelssites for their cooperation in promptly fulfilling their association dues. The contributions of each member play a pivotal role in facilitating the successful implementation of various programs and initiatives that benefit all students. It is a call to action for those who are yet to make their payments to kindly do so in order to ensure the seamless functioning of the association.


Nimelssites are encouraged to maintain an open line of communication with the SRC, as the council exists to represent their interests across different constituencies. The SRC reiterates its commitment to advocating for the concerns and aspirations of Nimelssites, urging them to never hesitate in reaching out whenever needed.


The SRC concludes the statement by affirming that any form of laxity, dereliction of duty, or unconstitutional behavior will not be tolerated.
